Hello World!

My name is Tristen Dixon.  I live in a tiny town in Arkansas with my husband and two precious babies.  Well, I still consider them both babies. ;)  My sweet son just turned 9 and my precious baby daughter will turn two in October.  I can hardly believe how fast it has all flown by.  I look back at pictures of them both as tiny babies and I am at a loss for words.  In my head, they are still that small.  It's not until I see the stark contrast that I appreciate how fast it is slipping through my fingers.  So, I am writing this blog in part to help me journal about them and the things we do together. 

This is a HUGE year for our family.  I have been a teacher for the last several years and this year for the first time I am able to stay home with my kiddos!  It has been so exciting to be there for every question my inquisitive son comes up with and every discovery my toddler makes.  I had no idea until now just how much I'd been missing and I am so happy for this opportunity.  My son is in third grade this year and he goes to public school.  My daughter, however, is relying on me for preschool.  For that reason and just because I LOVE writing curriculum, I also have an online store with Teachers Pay Teachers  where I sell my materials.  As a teacher, I was always creating materials for me and the other teachers to use.  My husband says it's because I am a workaholic, and I'm starting to think he might be right :) but it's something I truly enjoy!  I'll also be using this blog to demonstrate my materials and show how we are using them here at our home classroom and how my friends are still using them in the public classroom.  If you ever need to contact me, please email me here or comment on our FaceBook page.
